The city animal pound in San Juan is now being investigated after a video of animals, allegedly from the said pound were abused and were not given due care.

Based on the report of Unang Balita, at the height of Carina, and with floodwaters everywhere, the video showed how a dog was frantically swimming, not knowing what to do.

There were also cats, who seemed to be lifeless anymore.

As per the rescuer Veron, who was tagged by many netizens upon seeing the video, they were actually crying as they were rescuing the animals.

"Umiiyak kami habang nag-rerescue kami," Veron recounted in an interview.

News, photos or videos that arouse the interest of netizens would often go viral on social media. These viral posts appeal to the emotions of netizens, and in rare cases, such could also happen to ordinary people.

The severe and widespread flooding brought about by typhoon Carina did not spare even the iconic PBB house, which many refer to as "Bahay Ni Kuya." A heavy downpour caused massive flooding in various areas in the metro. In a video shared on social media, one can see water seeping into the bedroom of PBB housemates. Other parts of Metro Manila suffered worst case flooding, with floodwaters reaching up to the roofs of some houses.

Earlier in the day, typhoon Carina claimed one of its first casualties in a barangay in Quezon City. A man was swept away by the flood while standing on a small bridge in Barangay Valencia in Quezon City. His lifeless body was later found along the riverbanks of another barangay. It was around five in the morning when the waters on the creek suddenly rose. The typhoon has certainly claimed a lot of lives.
