MJ Lastimosa, in a recent post on the social media platform ‘X’, the beauty queen gave her own humorous take on the raging controversy about travel writer Jude Bacalso and a waiter.

It can be recalled that Jude allegedly made the waiter stand for two hours as punishment for calling her “Sir.”

Based on social media accounts, apparently the travel writer didn’t like it when the waiter addressed her as “Sir” and not “Ma’am.”

Calling it a case of gender misidentification, Jude proceeded to complain, first to the waiter, and later on to the store supervisor.

The travel writer went through a lot of bashing after that, particularly when a photo of her sitting at a chair with the waiter appearing to be in parade-rest stance in front of her.

Jude has since apologized for her deed, adding that she should have been a little bit kinder towards the waiter.

For her part, MJ Lastimosa, in a recent social media post, expressed a humorous opinion on the entire debacle.

She said she has experienced being called “Sir” once, though she said it might be that the other person was getting panicky.

“Marecourse natatawag din akong sir minsan,” MJ wrote in her post.

“I think natataranta kasi sila minsan not that they don’t know better. Let’s extend kindness a little more ,” the beauty queen added.

Mary Jean Ramirez Lastimosa, more popularly known as MJ Lastimosa, is a Filipino-Arabian model, host, actress, TV presenter, and beauty pageant titleholder. She was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2014 and was the Philippines' bet to the Miss Universe 2014 pageant where she was able to get into the Top 10.

Last year, MJ herself became involved in a controversy with Miss Grand Founder Nawat Itsaragrisil, who took to TikTok to express his thoughts on the pageant. One of those he specifically mentioned was MJ Lastimosa. He told MJ during a live feed not to come to Miss Grand anymore. He also said that from that day they don't know each other anymore.

In another post, MJ Lastimosa took to X and to give her reaction to Miss Nicaragua's iconic Miss Universe 2023 win. The beauty queen underscored how all the girls on stage were jumping for joy. She also said that one will know that Miss Nicaragua has a good heart. "Our new Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios," said MJ in her tweet.
