A midwife from Muntinlupa was caught by authorities after she tried to sell a baby online at a price of P25,000.
Based on the report by 24 Oras, and a video shared by the NBI Anti-Human Trafficking Division, the midwife was caught red-handed while still holding the baby, which was only six days old.
The midwife defended herself and said that she was only trying to find a person who would be adopting the child.
The NBI said that the suspect negotiated with the prospective buyer of the child, and even said that she will be the one who would process the birth certificate and that it would be the name of the buyer, who would be reflected as the name of the parent.
