On December 17, 2023, Ronaldo, who was fondly remembered as "Lolo Sir" from the defunct TV series '2 Good 2 Be True,' passed away at 76.

Janno Gibbs penned a heartfelt post on the 40th day after Ronaldo Valdez's passing. On his Instagram account, Janno shared a photo of him and his father taken during the filming of their movie, "Itutumba Ka Ng Tatay Ko." Along with the photo, Janno talked about his emotional scene with Ronaldo in the film. The singer-actor also expressed that the late veteran actor's presence in the film is "undeniable."
