Israeli embassy nagdadalamhati sa pagkamatay nina Geneva Lopez, Yitzhak Cohen

- The Israeli embassy has released a statement on the death of Geneva Lopez and her boyfriend Yitzhak Cohen

The Embassy of Israel expressed its sadness over the untimely death of Geneva Lopez and her boyfriend, Yitzhak Cohen, who is an Israeli.

According to the report of GMA News, a statement from the embassy noted that they were extending their condolences to the families of both Geneva and Yitzhak.

It also recognized the efforts poured in by the government to solve the crime, which eventually led to the discovery of the cadavers of the victims at a quarry site in Capas, Tarlac.

It also stated that they are confident that the authorities will continue to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.

“The Embassy of Israel in Manila is deeply saddened by the tragic discovery of the cadavers of Israeli citizen Yitshak Cohen and his partner, Geneva Sarita Lopez, in Brgy. Sta. Lucia, Capas, Tarlac,” the statement from the Israeli embassy read.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to their families during this incredibly difficult time,” it further stated.
“We are confident that the authorities will thoroughly investigate this tragic incident and bring those responsible to justice,” the Israeli embassy, in a statement, concluded.

In a previous report by ABS-CBN, the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) found decomposed bodies of a male and a female in a quarry site in Brgy. Sta. Lucia, Capas, Tarlac.

In an Inquirer report at the time, the police refused to givemore details on the unearthed corpses.

Later on, it was confirmed by authorities that the decomposing bodies were indeed that of the missing beauty queen and her Israeli boyfriend.

Geneva Lopez is a 27-year-old model and beauty queen who was reported missing on June 21, 2024. She was with her boyfriend, 37-year-old Israeli national, Yitzhak Cohen. The two were last seen in Tarlac. On July 6, police authorities say they have found the decomposing bodies of the couple in a quarry site in a faraway barangay in Capas, Tarlac.

Recently, an urn of one of the two bodies that were found in a quarry in Capas, Tarlac has been brought home by the family. According to GMA News, the urn is believed to be that of Geneva Lopez. The video posted by GMA showed a Toyota Fortuner parked outside the funeral home in Tarlac. A man could be seen carrying an urn as he comes out of a door from the funeral parlor.

It can be recalled that the body of Geneva Lopez, the missing beauty queen, has been cremated. In the report done by ABS-CBN News, Lopez's sibling revealed that two wakes will be held. One wake will be done at the place where the late beauty queen grew up while the other wake will be held near a memorial chapel. Previously, Lopez and her boyfriend, Yitshak Cohen, were said to have sustained gunshot wounds.
