Actor-director Manny Castañeda has passed away, according to Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairman Jose Javier Reyes' post on Facebook on July 1.

The FDPC director shared a black-and-white photo of the two of them together.

He made a lengthy post, remembering their good times together, and also noted that they have known each other since they were young.

Reyes said that they have been friends for 61 years.
