- FAMAS has since issued an apology to Ms. Darren and her family, which the latter, along with her kins, has also publicly accepted through a social media post
- For AKTOR’s part, it expressed its support and solidarity with Ms. Darren along with the hopes that those concerned would restore respect and authenticity to such events

AKTOR Ph, an organization composed of Pinoy actors, has issued a statement as regards to the Ms. Eva Darren and FAMAS awards night debacle.
It can be recalled that the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences or FAMAS organization has invited Ms. Darren to its awards night and be one of its presenters.
While Ms. Darren did graced the event with her presence, she was unable to present the award as someone else presented it in her stead.
The FAMAS organization has since apologized to Ms. Darren and her family for the debacle, an apology that the latter has already accepted.

In the statement of AKTOR Ph, it pointed out that “an awards night” is supposed to be a “moment of celebratio” that extends beyond trophies.
“An awards night is a moment of celebration, extending beyond mere victory and trophies. It serves as a gathering. for the entire community, offering a chance to unite and acknowledge the talents and artistry of each member,” AKTOR Ph, in its statement, said.
“It is ironic that the event last Sunday, which was supposed to honor the iconic pillars of the country, was marred by an unfortunate incident that happened to one of our respected and beloved peers during a celebration with industry members at one of the oldest award-giving bodies,” it added.
The actor’s organization then expressed sadness for the alleged “lapse in the management of the program.”
“We are deeply saddened by the seeming lapse in the management of the program. While acknowledging shortcomings in execution, our aim is to underscore the broader culture surrounding award ceremonies,” AKTOR stated further.
It then expressed its aspirations for such events to be glorious once again.
“We aspire to revive the genuine essence of these events and bring back the glory of these gatherings, by fostering 1ntimate celebrations that recognize excellence and embrace every individual without fear of exclusion and discrimination,” the organization of Pinoy actors stated.
“Now, more than ever, it is crucial to safeguard and honor the Filipino film industry, restoring both respect and authenticity to its events,” the statement added.
Near the end of its post, AKTOR then extended its support and solidarity to Ms. Darren.
“AKTOR, the League of Filipino Actors, extends its warmest support and solidarity to Ms. Eva Darren,” the statement concluded.
Eva Darren is a Pinay actress best known for the supporting roles she played. She began appearing in movies during the early 1960s and won the FAMAS Award for Best Supporting Actress for the 1969 movie "Ang Pulubi" starring Charito Solis. One of her most memorable roles was in the hit TV series of ABS-CBN "Pangako Sa 'Yo," where she played as the adoptive mom of Kristine Hermosa.
Recently, Ms. Darren and her family has accepted the apology issued by the FAMAS organization. It can be recalled that the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) invited Ms Darren to grace the awards night and be one of its presenters alongside Tirso Cruz III. When the time came for both of them to present the award, it was Tirso and an upcoming young singer who went onstage, instead of the veteran actor and Ms Darren. According to FAMAS, they were unable to locate Ms Darren, hence the replacement.
On Monday, May 27, FAMAS took to Facebook to address the issue on their page. According to FAMAS, it was not intentional, and they were not able to locate Miss Darren. They then sincerely apologized to Miss Darren and her family on social media.
