Gigi De Lana revealed some heartbreaking news about her sick mother on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

On her Instagram page, @gigidelanaofficial, Gigi announced that her mother has passed away.

In her post, the famous singer penned a short but touching farewell message for her late mom, who was diagnosed with stage 4 brèast cancer.

“Mahal na mahal kita. Pahinga ka na mama ko,” she wrote.

In the comments section of her post, her followers sent heartfelt condolences to Gigi.

Celebrities like Janine Berdin, Ogie Alcasid, Darren Espanto, and Arnold Clavio are among those who immediately left their kind messages for the singer-actress.

“My condolences Ate Gi.. all the prayers and love,” said Janine.

“Hugs and prayers gigi,” Ogie penned.

“Condolences, Ate,” Darren wrote.

Gigi De Lana, who was first introduced in showbiz circles as Gedget Dela Llana, is a singer, commercial model, and actress. She rose to fame when she joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan on “It’s Showtime.” She became a defending champion and eventually became a semi-finalist. She also made her debut on the silver screen with Four Sisters Before the Wedding. Gigi and her band, Gigi Vibes, can often be seen performing via live stream.

In a previous post, Gigi shared the events that transpired during her vehicular accident and why she decided to go ahead with the event despite her injuries. She said she was thinking about the people who went to the event just to see them, and so she and her band decided to go on with the show. It can be recalled that Gigi appeared to have fainted on stage, which might have been due to the injuries she sustained, in the middle of her performance. Despite this, Gigi opted not to go to the hospital because she was worried about the expenses.

Gigi, in a social media post, expressed her opinion on some netizens’ comments complaining about the dreary performance of some singers at events. The famous singer, however, did not say whether the alleged complaints were directed at her and the Gigi Vibes band or whether the criticism was directed at other singers.
