Bahay Ni Kuya, muling magbubukas; ABS-CBN inanunsyo pagbabalik ng Pinoy Big Brother

ABS-CBN has announced the scheduled re-opening of “Bahay ni Kuya” in a recent post on the network’s official social media page.

According to the Kapamilya Network, Pinoy Big Brother is scheduled to return to Philippine TV screens in the month of June.

Pinoy Big Brother, oftentimes referred to as PBB, is the Philippine adaptation of the popular American TV reality series called “Big Brother.”

Winners of the PBB, and even some non-winners for that matter, get a chance of making it big in Pinoy showbiz.

The Philippine version of the American-conceived reality show has produced dozens of names in the local showbiz industry, with some of them making it to stardom.

Among the PBB alumni are Sam Milby, Gerald Anderson, Kim Chiu, Melai Cantiveros, Myrtle Sarrosa, Maymay Entrata, Zanjoe Marudo, Robi Domingo, Bianca Gonzalez, Beauty Gonzalez, Ryan Bang, Maris Racal, and James Reid.

Pinoy Big Brother is a reality show where the contestants are required to stay in a house known as “Bahay ni Kuya.” The big winner will be determined by overcoming the challenges that must be faced inside the house and also with the help of votes from the audience.

Recently, Franki Russel, an ex-PBB housemate, was chosen to represent New Zealand in the 2024 Ms. Universe. This was announced by XPedition Magazine owned by Dubai-based Filipino businessman Josh Yugen. This is again the first time that said country will participate in Miss Universe since the year 2019. Right now, the Philippines is also preparing to choose the country's representative in the 2024 Miss Universe pageant.

Another Former PBB housemate, Ylona Garcia, has also unlocked another milestone in her career. She sang the Philippine National Anthem at the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Oakland Athletics game in Los Angeles, California. Ylona uploaded on social media some photos and clips from the baseball match. One of the video clips she shared showed her singing “Lupang Hinirang.”
