Morisette Amon, nagsalita ukol sa “lackluster performance” niya sa isang event: “It happens”

- Amid speculations that the said event director was referring to her, Mori stated that things happen though clarified there is a story behind every circumstance

Morisette Amon, in a recent ambush interview, a video of which was posted on the Inquirer’s ‘X’ page, talked about her reported “lackluster performance” at a corporate event a couple of weeks ago.

It can be recalled that an event director, in a post that has since been deleted, talked about a “phoenix” whom he said appeared “zapped of energy, acted uninterested, and sounded cold and distant” during a corporate performance.

The singer is dubbed by the media as “Asia’s Phoenix” after her rousing performance at an event in South Korea several years ago.

Amid speculations the event director was referring to Mori, the singer explained in the said interview that things happen sometimes, although she also made clarifications that there is a story behind every situation.

“I know. Well, it happens. Nagkakasakit tayo and then people don't really understand the whole story but yun. I have shared nga po, I decided to speak up na kasi medyo lumalaki na siya,” Mori said in answer to the query of a reporter.

“Asia’s Phoenix” then indicated that she would have wanted to keep her silence and not talk about it in the hopes that it would just go away but she felt it’s already getting out of hand and so she decided to make a statement about it.

“Di ba dati parang pwede mo naman siyang iwan na lang and it's just gone pero this one, dumadami yung taong naniniwala na ganun so parang nasa-sad na ako,” the singer said.

“As I was also explaining nga kay ate MJ na I think ngayon, with how the internet is going nga it's very important na rin to speak up especially if it's about your core values and the things you really believe in,” Mori concluded.

Morissette Amon is a Filipino singer known for her powerful, intense, and emotional singing style. She became popular after being part of the first season of The Voice PH. Her covers on YouTube have garnered millions of views already. She is now married to Dave Lamar.

Previously, Morisette found it better to talk about a blind item that many speculated might have been referring to her. The said blind item was posted by an event director and talked about a singer referred to as a "phoenix." According to Mori, she supposedly didn't have any plans to talk about it but she said it was unfair to be at the receiving end of bashings without her confronting such. She said she couldn't understand why the person posted about the blind item when she doesn't even know the individual at all. The singer continued to say that even if she wasn't feeling well, she still performed at an event.

In another previous interview, Mori opened up about her wedding with Dave Lamar on “Magandang Buhay.” The OPM star explained why she kept her wedding a secret at first. She wanted to keep her wedding private so that she, Dave, and their loved ones can enjoy it for themselves for at least several months. Morissette also revealed that she and Dave have yet to experience a grand honeymoon abroad.
