- Michael Cinco, in a report by Philippine Star of his now expired social media post, appeared to call out some Pinoy celebrities and influencers who wanted to get his services

- Near the end of his post, Michael indicated that he has encountered such Pinoy celebrities and he would always tell them that beautiful things in the world aren’t free

Michael Cinco, a famous Pinoy international designer based in Dubai, in a report by PhilSTAR Life of his now-expired Instagram post, appeared to have called out some Pinoy celebrities and influencers who wanted to get his services.

According to the famous international designer, many of these celebrities are willing to pay a fortune for expensive European brands.

“So Filipino celebrities and famous influencers are often seen wearing European designer clothes? It seems like they spend a fortune on these items just to keep up with the latest fashion trends,” Michael wrote in his now-expired Instagram post.

“But have you ever stopped to think about why they choose to spend their money on these expensive European brands, rather than supporting our very own Filipino designers?” he asked.

In the report by Philippine Star, Michael then pointed out the irony in how such Pinoy celebrities wear European designer clothes but when it comes to Pinoy designers, they wanted the latter to give it to them for free.

“It's quite ironic how these celebrities proudly wear these designer clothes, but when it comes to Filipino designers, they suddenly want everything custom-made for them for FREE,” the famous international designer said.

“It's a sad reality that many talented and hardworking FILIPINO DESIGNERS have to face. They pour their hearts and souls into their creations, but are often undervalued and underpaid,” he added.

Michael then expressed his wish for everyone to start recognizing and supporting Pinoy fashion designers.

“As a society, we need to start recognizing and supporting our own local talents, including fashion designers. They have the potential to create beautiful and unique creations that can rival any European brand,” the famous international designer added.

“So let's give credit where it's due and SUPPORT our Filipino designers. It's time to break the cycle and uplift our own fashion industry,” he further said.

Near the end of his post, Michael indicated that some of the celebrities he’s referring to have tried to get his services in the same manner they would deal with local fashion designers.

“Everytime some influencers and starlets ask me if I wanna do their wedding dress or red carpet dresses for collaboration or for FREE. I always tell them - WHAT A WONDERFUL LIFE. BEAUTIFUL THINGS in this world are not FREE. In other words. MAGBAYAD KA!!!” Michael said in his now-expired IG post.

Michael Cinco is a Dubai-based fashion designer who launched his label in 2003. He has served Hollywood celebs like Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Sofia Vergara.

Previously, Michael Cinco was defended by many Pinoy designers after the former lashed out at critics. It can be recalled that at the time, Michael reacted to the allegations about sabotaging the gown of Miss Universe-Canada Nova Stevens, causing the latter not to be named as one of the Top 21 candidates. His fellow designers attested to the dedication given by Michael for Miss Universe-Canada and her team.

A couple of years ago, Michael posted some photos of the wedding gown of Cong. Claudine Bautista, which later went viral. The international designer described the bride as "beautiful Congresswoman Dendee." The blushing bride "looks radiant in a couture Michael Cinco beaded wedding gown." The renowned fashion designer also stated that the wedding was a solemn wedding ceremony on a lavish private island in Balesin.
