Janno Gibbs revealed, during a recent press conference, that apart from their immediate family members, the only person allowed to view the remains of his dad, Ronaldo Valdez, was Kathryn Bernardo.

It can be recalled that Janno’s dad, a veteran multi-awarded actor, was found in his bedroom on December 17 with no signs of life.

While there are already theories as regards the cause of his death, police have yet to come out with an official and definitive statement.

During the press conference, Janno said that Kath was among the first ones to arrive during the wake.

He said that his dad and Kath developed a strong bond during the production of the series “2 Good 2 Be True” and became very close.

When he was still alive, Ronaldo was featured in an interview with some of the cast of “2 Good 2 Be True,” including Kathryn.

At the time Kath recalled how she and Ronaldo became closer as each day passed by.

“We just clicked. I had no idea you were as matakaw and into sweets just like me! And ooops, pareho din tayo iyakin,” Kath told the veteran actor.

“I didn’t expect to be so close to you. Thank you, thank you,” she added, calling the veteran actor the “best lolo” she never had.

In his recent interview, it was because of this closeness between his dad and Kathryn that they allowed her to view the remains.

“Kathryn was there, one of the firsts sa wake. She was the only one allowed to view. It was just immediate family plus they were really close,” Janno said during the press conference.

Kathryn Bernardo is among the most popular and acclaimed Filipina film and television actresses. She is considered one of the most successful celebrities because of her blockbuster movies. She holds the highest-grossing Filipino Film of All Time, "Hello, Love, Goodbye." It also became the highest-grossing Filipino Film in the Middle East, Australia, and North America. She used to be the girlfriend of famous actor Daniel Padilla, but they have recently broken up.

Last month, Kathryn took to her IG Stories and shared ABS-CBN's video tribute for Ronaldo Valdez. The actress had been sharing videos and photos online when she learned about the untimely demise of the multi-awarded veteran actor. She, along with the cast of the TV series “2 Good 2 Be True,” also visited the wake of Ronaldo to offer their condolences to his loved ones. Among the cast of “2 Good 2 Be True” who visited the veteran actor’s wake is Kathryn’s ex-boyfriend, Daniel Padilla, though there was no indication they arrived together.

At the time, a video of Kath and Ronaldo back during the "2 Good 2 Be True" days surfaced online and went viral. The video showed Kath, requesting Lolo Sir to say one final line. Ronaldo immediately gave in and did as what was requested of him. It was also an emotional moment between Kath and the veteran actor, showing the strong bond that they established.
