Iza Calzado, ibinahaging nagka-dengue si Baby Deia: "Amazed by her strength and resilience"

Iza Calzado has taken to Instagram and shared how little Deia had dengue, and how her baby overcame it.

While Baby Deia greeted the new year sick, Iza noted how strong and resilient her little one is.

"For Deia, 2024 was greeted in Boracay with a runny nose that only lasted 24 hours. When we got home on the 2nd of January, she got a fever. On the third day of the fever, we went to see our Pedia, @romeonuguidmd and he asked for Deia to take a blood test to best identify the cause of her fever. That night, we found out she was positive for dengue. The next day her fever was gone and the rashes started coming out and, thankfully, white blood cells were going up!"

Iza chose to look at the better side of things.

"I can choose to see it as my baby sadly greeting the year with sickness or be amazed by her strength and resilience. I choose to believe the latter."

The little girl also took her first few steps.

"She also took her first few steps on January 1st and it’s been an incredible journey of seeing her build her strength, skills and confidence, one step at a time. "

Iza Calzado is a Filipino actress, producer, model, and television host. She is popularly known for films such as The Echo (2008), Ang Panday 2 (2011), and Bliss (2017), among many others. Over the years, she has proven to be a dominant force in the entertainment scene. She started her career in GMA-7 but signed a contract with ABS-CBN in 2012. She is married to Ben Wintle, and they have a cute and lovely daughter Deia Amihan.

Recently, Iza also shared that Baby Deia Amihan was baptized on January 13. The little girl was baptized in the Catholic faith. Based on the videos shared by Noel Ferrer, it was a simple gathering of close friends and relatives of the couple. Former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo was also present during the baptism.

Previously, the actress also took to Instagram and recalled the first time that she returned to work. She said that it was a day filled with a lot of emotions. She was happy that she's already working, and at the same time, she missed her baby so much. Iza shared that it was during that time that she struggled on missing out, especailly during bedtime and narrated how hard it was really to be away from one's baby.
