Robi Domingo, a Filipino VJ and TV host, has taken to social media to talk about his grandmother's passing on his wedding day.

Earlier, on January 6, Robi finally tied the knot with his girlfriend, Maiqui Pineda, at a simple ceremony at the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of San Isidro Labrador.

However, what Robi's fans and followers were unaware of was his grandmother passing away on the same morning of his wedding day.

On his Instagram page, Robi recounted the experience to be "bittersweet" before writing a heartfelt post about his grandmother, whom he fondly called "Ina."

"Bittersweet. January 6 was the happiest day of my life. My heart was filled with immense gratitude -from preps in the morning, to the ceremony, to the reception, which lasted until dawn. As I was about to leave the place, my mom was sobbing as she tried to tell me that my Lola passed away that same morning. Apparently, my family didn't tell us, so that our focus was our magical day. "Ina," as I fondly called her, took care of me, especially when I was a toddler. I loved how she made her ube halaya and Leche flan sa llanera. Rest in peace, ina. Please look after us together with ama. Thank you, and we love you," he wrote.

In a social media post shared by Robi’s friend, Melai Cantiveros, one can see the happiness painted on everyone’s faces as the two exchanged vows at the altar.

Meanwhile, Robi Domingo shared an update on his and Maiqui Pineda’s dream home. He posted photos giving glimpses of the ongoing renovation of their future house. In the caption, Robi said he is really happy with the outcome of the ongoing renovation. The TV host and his fiancée likewise expressed gratitude to the designer of their home.
