- Jako De Leon, son of Joey De Leon, congratulated his father and his two partners, Tito Sotto and Vic Sotto, for gaining the court’s favor in their petition regarding “Eat Bulaga”

- It can be recalled that the trio, more popularly known as TVJ, filed a petition in a Marikina court asking it to prohibit TAPE, Inc and GMA-7 from using the trademark “EB” and “Eat Bulaga”

- In a decision dated December 22, 2023, which TVJ’s lawyers received on January 5, 2024, the court granted the trio’s petition, thus paving the way for them to use the trademark again in their own show on TV5

- The congratulatory post of Jako was reposted by Joey De Leon on his own social media account

“Eat is written. 143-44 to the Legit na Legit na Legit na Eat Bulaga. Congrats @tvjofficial @angpoetnyo,” Jako wrote in his post on Instagram Stories.

His congratulatory post was immediately reposted by his Dad, Joey, on his own Instagram account.

It can be recalled that Tito, Vic, and Joey, more popularly known as TVJ, filed a petition in a Regional Trial Court in Marikina City, asking it to bar TAPE, Inc. and GMA-7 from using the trademark “Eat Bulaga” and “EB” in any of their shows.

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.

Recently, TVJ, in a post on their social media page, shared the news that the court has granted their complaint against TAPE and GMA as to the use of trademarks “EB” and “Eat Bulaga.”According to the post of the trio, after a court proceeding that lasted five months, TVJ emerged victorious in their complaint against TAPE and GMA-7.

They also shared that the court rendered its decision last December 22, 2023, and it was by TVJ’s lawyers today, January 5, 2024. The post also revealed that the court has prohibited TAPE and GMA from using the said trademarks, including the jingle, thus paving the way for its use by TVJ in their noontime show on TV5.
