Lolit Solis defended Alden Richards from the issues surrounding the actor, concerning his being single and without any partner.

The veteran columnist said that the issue got her upset because, for her, Alden is one of the celebs who is very kind and respectful.

Lolit expressed her admiration towards the actor, saying that the latter does not easily give in to pressure to have a partner or court someone.

She also noted that there are simply people who would rather go solo than have a partner.

"May mga tao na gusto solo lang sila, ayaw nila ng may kasama, so what is wrong with that? Bakit hindi natin matanggap. Hanga nga ako kay Alden dahil hindi siya nagpapadala sa pressure. Hindi siya kagaya nuon iba na basta lang mapagbigyan iyon gusto ng iba, sige kahit sino liligawan o gagawin partner. Alden Richards is biding his time, dahil gusto niya iyon mapipili niya iyon forever niya. Hindi padalos dalos, hindi nagmamadali, hindi nagpapa pressure."

Richard Reyes Faulkerson, Jr., more popularly by his screen name, Alden Richards, is a Pinoy actor, producer, and entrepreneur. He is also known as “Asia’s Multimedia Star” after receiving the Asian Star Prize awards during the 14th Seoul International Drama Awards of 2019 for acting. He rose to fame as the partner of Maine Mendoza in their tandem, AlDub, on “Eat Bulaga.”

Recently, the actor gave a statement on the seemingly never-ending gender issue being hurled at him. In an interview with Toni Gonzaga, the actor was asked what is it that he’s tired of hearing about. Alden then said that it seems so easy for other people to judge him. He then also talked about the undying rumors about him and Maine Mendoza.

In the same interview, he addressed the undying rumors about his alleged continued relationship with Maine Mendoza. Alden said that when Maine tied the knot with Arjo Atayde, he thought that such rumors would already stop, but it didn’t. The actor said that there are still others who believe he and Maine were already married and that they have a child. Alden said there is no truth to such rumors and claims, though he admitted he found it hard to convince some of their fans who seem to be happy with such belief.
