Rico Blanco, in his recent post on Facebook, revealed that he has been bullied for 30 years now and said there are people who keep on telling him how to play, sing, and write songs.

The singer-songwriter also said there are people who often tell him what he should and shouldn’t do, adding that these personalities aren’t even his fans and have no career but act like they experts in his own career.

“30 yrs na ako binu bully at sinasabihan ng mga HINDI ko fans kung pano dapat tumugtog, kumanta, sumulat, kung ano ang dapat at di ko dapat gawin. Napakaraming walang career pero expert sa career ko ,” Rico said in his post.

The former frontman for the popular band “Rivermaya” then said that had he listened to these people, he might have quit the music scene a long time ago.

“Kung nakinig ako sa kanila matagal na ako tumigil sa musika,” Rico said.

Rico then indicated he would never listen to such people because it’s not them who brought him to where he is today but his fans.

“Ngayon pa ba ako makikinig sa kanila eh ang nagdala naman sa akin dito ay hindi sila kundi KAYO ❤️,” the former frontman for “Rivermaya” said.

He also revealed that he just played “to a sea of people in Davao” who were all dancing and singing along with him.

Rico also said that he recently “received the lifetime industry honor” in front of his peers and a new breed of artists, indicating that because of these, there’s no reason for him to listen to the people whom he said have been bullying him.

“I just played to a sea of people in Davao all happily dancing and singing along, some in tears. I just received the lifetime industry honor in front of my peers and a new generation of artists,” the singer-songwriter said.
“My heart is full and i will keep doing my music my way. If you want to do things your way then make your own and i will respect you to the highest degree. Peace and love always ,” Rico concluded.

Rico Blanco is a Pinoy singer, songwriter, actor, record producer, endorser, and entrepreneur. In September of this year, Rico posted a heartwarming greeting for his girlfriend, Maris Racal, something which gave his fans "kilig" vibes. It can be recalled that Maris celebrated her 26th birthday last September 22. For her part, Maris also shared some photos on her social media account. It can be recalled that it was in 2021 that Maris admitted on "Magandang Buhay" that even before the pandemic, she and Rico were already in a relationship.
