Lolit Solis, in a recent post on Instagram, said that the recently-concluded Ms Universe pageant 2023 was “bongga” because of its many firsts.

She revealed this is the first time that someone with a child was allowed to join and also the first time a chubby contestant took part in the pageant.

The veteran showbiz columnist also said that she noticed most of those who joined have Latina features.

“Salve bongga ngayon Ms Universe ha. First time may sumali na may anak, at isang chubby hah hah. Saka napansin ko very Latina ang dating ng halos lahat ng sumali,” Manay Lolit said.

The columnist then said that because of this, it is easy to spot the Philippines’ bet, Michelle Dee, because her hair is short.

She remarked that despite the fact that Michelle only got up to Top 10, she’s still very proud.

“Buti nga si Michelle Dee maikli ang buhok kaya mas napapansin mo pa. Kahit na sa Top 10 lang nakuha si Michelle Dee very proud na ako dahil talaga naman very outstanding ang beauty ng mga candidates,” the veteran showbiz columnist said.

“At least ang educational attainment ni Michelle hindi patatalo duon sa mga candidates na may mga masters pa at doctorate. Talagang panlaban narin ngayon kung ano ang educational background mo. Iyon nasa Top Ten siya malaking bagay na noh!” she added.

Manay Lolit also said that she liked the result when it comes to the Top 3 because their advocacies were all outstanding.

“Basta gusto ko ngayon ang resulta,iyon Top 3 talagang bongga pati mga advocacy nila very outstanding. Beauty and brains talaga lahat ng sumali,” the columnist noted.

The veteran columnist then expressed her opinion about the single mother and the “chubby” contestant, saying they gave hope to other women.

“Saka maganda din iyon pagsali ng isang single mother at chubby candidates. Bigla nagbigay ng hope ito sa iba pang babae,” she said.
“Very good ngayon ang Ms. Universe, kaya lang may intriga dahil bibitawan na ng dating may franchise at waiting pa sila kung kukunin ni Donald Trump,” Manay Lolit said.
