In an exclusive interview at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador, reporter Dyan Castillejo caught up with Maxine, sister of Miss Universe Philippines 2023, Michelle Dee. Maxine, who embarked on a 12-hour flight from Utah to be by her sister's side, shared her thoughts on Michelle's preliminary round performance.

Maxine expressed her overwhelming pride, praising Michelle’s transformation and her beautiful, elegant, and patriotic way of representing the Philippines in the prestigious pageant.
“It is absolutely amazing. I am so proud of her. I am so amazed at her transformation and how she represents our country in such a beautiful, elegant, and patriotic way. Go Philippines,” Maxine said.
Maxine also revealed that their mother, former beauty queen Melanie Marquez, will be joining them for the final days of the pageant to lend her support to Michelle. The Dee family stands united as Michelle Dee competes for the Miss Universe crown, showcasing grace, elegance, and national pride.

Michelle Marquez Dee is a beauty queen who rose to fame after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant. She represents the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador later this year. Michelle’s mother is actress and former beauty queen Melanie Marquez.
Earlier, Michelle was definitely a stunner in the swimsuit competition of Miss Universe 2023 preliminaries. She showcased her smooth pasarela while wearing a sparkling red one-piece swimwear. The country's bet and the other delegates donned beautiful swimsuits by fashion designer Rubin Singer. A video of Michelle's performance during the said round then made the rounds on social media.
Likewise, Michelle is also gaining praise after walking the runway during the evening gown portion of Miss Universe 2023 preliminaries. The country’s bet turned heads while donning a sparkling gown by Mark Bumgarner. The Miss Universe Philippines organization then took to its social media page to share a clip of Michelle’s performance. The organization also posted a stunning video of the beauty queen flexing the couture gown.
