On Cristy Ferminute, the veteran columnist reprimanded some fans of the couple, defending Ogie as she claimed that she pitied the latter.

"Sobra na akong naaawa kay Ogie Diaz. Sobra na talaga. Kung pagmumurahin nila si Ogie, kung maliitin nila, kung patikimin nila ng mga salita ay para bang sila ang nagpapakain dun sa tao. Sumusobra na itong tropa na ito ng KathNiel," she said.

According to Cristy, in her viral Cristy Ferminute episode, whatever the fans and other netizens are doing to Ogie is not right.

"Para sabihin ninyo na gumagawa-gawa, na fake news peddler ang mga reporters, lalo na si Ogie Diaz, anong gusto niyo? Na manumpa ang mga reporters na ang aming trabaho ay inilaan at pinasok para lamang sa inyo? Hindi tama iyon," she said.
