Zephanie Odhene Liwag Dimaranan is a Filipina singer from Binan, Laguna. She was hailed the first Idol Philippines grand champion.
In April of last year, she surprised everyone when it was announced that she has become part of GMA Network's talent arm, Sparkle GMA Artist Center. It turned out that the Idol Philippines winner signed her contract with the said TV network the month before, or more specifically on March 31 of 2022. Furthermore, she took to Instagram to share some photos showing off her look for the contract-signing event. Her post has gone viral, gaining numerous comments from netizens.
Amid some criticisms that Zephanie received from netizens and celebrities like Vice Ganda, she found allies in the person of showbiz reporters Cristy Fermin and Romel Chika. The two tackled Vice Ganda’s viral statement during the finale of “Idol Philippines Season 2,” where Khimo Gumatay was hailed as the champion. Before the announcement of the winner, Vice Ganda gave a message and quipped, “Sana mag-stay ka muna dito sa network na ‘to.” In an episode of “Cristy Ferminute,” the showbiz columnist defended Zephanie Dimaranan after Vice Ganda allegedly threw shade at the 19-year-old singer. It can be recalled that Zephanie was named the grand winner of the said reality show’s first season.
