In a recent interview with ABS-CBN News, Daniel expressed pride in his real-life sweetheart, Kathryn Bernardo. The actress bagged the Outstanding Asian Star award during the Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) 2023 in South Korea. He said that because of the dedication that the actress showed in the “2 Good 2 Be True” series, “walang mas deserving pa kung hindi si Kathryn lang.” The actor also indicated that his feelings of pride stemmed from the fact that a Pinoy won the award, saying “siyempre representative ng Philippines.”

In another interview during the press conference of “A Very Good Girl, Kathryn said that she and Daniel are not about to tie the knot just yet, at least from the actress’ point of view. She said that while she and DJ are talking about it, their wedding isn’t going to happen anytime soon. During the interview, she also said that both she and Daniel are at their peak at the moment and they need to work and work.
