The said meme went trending after the actor admitted he did go to Bagiuo along with actress Yen Santos.

At the time, Paolo, who dismissed rumors of them as being sweethearts, said he went up to the Summer Capital and brought Yen along with him “as a friend.”

That statement started the “Bagiuo as a friend” meme, which spread like wildfire on social media, with netizens thinking of varieties of phrases that included “as a friend.”

In the teaser of the new flick of Paolo, although the scene may be a bit humorous for many, particularly those familiar with the “as a friend meme,” it is actually a serious film about a gay wrestler whose real identity isn’t known by his family.

The said teaser shows actor John Arcilla calling out Paolo for getting home late the night before and asking him about a woman companion he was seen with.

John also said that it’s a different girl from the previous companion of Paolo in Baguio.

“'Yun ba? Wala 'yun dad, friend ko lang 'yun,” Paolo answered John.

Paolo Enrico Tusi Contis is a Filipino actor and host. He is also a comedian, and is now working as one of the main hosts of the noontime show "Eat Bulaga." He was a famous child actor and is now a GMA Network artist for 17 years.

In a previous post, Paolo expressed his thoughts on the upcoming wedding of his ex-partner LJ Reyes. In an interview, as per Bandera, the actor said that he's happy for LJ and that he does not have anything bad to say. He added that he's happy that she's getting married.
