Juan Ponce Enrile may mainit na komento kay Vice Ganda: “bastos kang tao!”

Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile recently called Vice Ganda “salacious” during his radio program on SMNI News on Saturday.

Enrile expressed fiery remarks against the “It’s Showtime” host after Movie and Television Review Classifications Board (MTRCB) suspended the Kapamilya noontime show for 12 airing days due to Vice Ganda and Ion Perez’s viral icing scene during the program.

In his commentary, Enrile said, “Ang problema dito sa bansa natin kung meron kang power, political, social, economic or whatever, halos hindi mo na iniisip ‘yong kapwa.”

“Ang binigay na katangian mo sa lipunan ay hindi mo na tinitingnan ang kapakanan nung mga iba. Sarili mo na lang ang iniisip mo. Akala mo maganda ang ginagawa mo pero bastos ka, bastos kang tao!” he frankly continued.

As per the politician and lawyer, he was able to follow the comedian’s rise in popularity, and he disagrees with his style of humor.

“Magmula pa noong araw ganyan na iyan… you’re earning your living and popularity sa kabastusan,” Enrile said.

Vice Ganda is a famous comedian, actor, endorser, and host in the Philippines. He is best known for hosting “It’s Showtime” and for his commercially successful movies in the MMFF. The superstar is currently in a relationship with Ion Perez. He and Ion got their Certificate of Commitment in a special ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada on Oct. 19, 2021.

As previously reported by KAMI, Vice Ganda came under the spotlight due to his recent online post. The said post was made amid MTRCB's 12-day suspension of 'It's Showtime.' Earlier, MTRCB released a statement where they banned the show for 12 airing days. Previously, Vice and Ion Perez made headlines due to an 'icing' incident on the noontime show.

Former MTRCB Chair Atty. Eugenio "Toto" Villareal shared his thoughts on "It's Showtime's" suspension. He felt sad about the turn of events and surmised that the same must be for the decision-makers. He then said that a 12-day suspension can have lots of effects not only for artists but also for the crew. ABS-CBN will be filing a motion for reconsideration on the suspension.
