She revealed that she first shared the anchor seat with Mike during the 1995 election coverage of GMA.

Karen said that Mike was down to earth and a good guy. She also noted that Mike was very easy to work with.

Remembering the iconic broadcaster, she said that she has always kept the words of Mike close to her heart, "The challenge is staying humble as you go up the ladder.”

"Paalam, MIKE ENRIQUEZ I first shared the anchor seat with the iconic ‘Booma’ in 1995 during GMA7’s election coverage, then Saksi’s 15 min newscast to its 30 min version ‘til 1999.
Mike was a good guy. Down to earth. Funny. Magaan ka-trabaho, napakasaya kasama. I’ve always kept close to my heart what he told me, “the challenge is staying humble as you go up the ladder”
Mike, I am forever grateful having known you. We will miss you ❤️ My heart goes out to his family.

Mike Enriquez, or Miguel Castro Enriquez in real life, was a multi-awarded Pinoy television and radio newscaster. He was the president of GMA Network’s regional and radio subsidiary, RGMA Network Inc., and was also the Station Manager of Super Radyo DZBB 594 AM. Mike was also a regular anchor on 24 Oras with Mel Tiangco and Vicky Morales. Many netizens mourned the passing of the veteran broadcaster.

Yasmien Kurdi cried when she heard the news of Mike Enriquez's passing. The Kapuso star took to Facebook and gave tribute to the veteran broadcaster. She underscored the goodness of Mike, saying that he's among the coolest bosses in GMA. Yasmien also said that Mike would even fist bump with her in the lobby.

Netizens took to social media and remembered the truly iconic lines of veteran Mike Enriquez. He passed away at the age of 71 on August 29, 2023. There were particularly two lines that became trademarks of the famous broadcaster. "Excuse me po" was one of those lines that many netizens remembered.
