Tim Yap, one of the celebrities present at the special event, took to social media and shared a video of Grace delivering her speech during the wedding reception.
In her speech, she recollected the first time she met Lovi, which took place during the wake of their father, Fernando Poe Jr.
“I’ve never really known I had a sister until my dad passed away—our dad passed away. Well, I knew I had a brother. I didn’t care because it was a guy, right?” the female politician said in jest, referring to their brother Ron Poe.

“But when I found out I had a sister, I was thinking, ‘I’m not the only girl anymore.’”
She went on and told Lovi, “But, the first time I met you during the wake, I saw a really young, innocent child weeping for our dad.”
The senator then shared what she felt when she saw Lovi at that time.
“And I felt so sad. And I felt so maternal. I can say maternal because Lovi is just a few years older than my only son.”
“So, I felt at that time, not only had I gained a sister, I almost felt like I had another child. Because I see in you qualities of the father I really loved.”
She added, “I just wish he could have walked you down the aisle. I just really wish.”
“He would have been so proud of you. You are beautiful. You are very intelligent. You are strong. I know you can weather anything because you are the daughter of FPJ.”
