She was born on April 19, 1990 in Cebu City to Chinese businessman William Chiu and Louella Yap. Kim is also known as the “Chinita Princess” and was once hailed as the “Princess of Philippine Movies and TV.” She is in a relationship with actor Xian Lim.
Kim recently posted on Instagram a couple of photos taken during the signing of her renewal of contract with her home network, ABS-CBN. In her post, Kim proudly declared that she would always be a Kapamilya, adding some hashtags that she would forever be grateful for.
Kim also could not help but cry during the “Mini Ms. U” segment of “It’s Showtime” on Monday. This was after a five-year-old contestant named Rain shared her life story. Despite living at a cemetery, Rain remains grateful to her parents for their love and sacrifices. Amy Perez then lauded Rain for understanding her family’s situation, while Kim turned emotional after the little girl showed appreciation for her parents’ efforts.
