Jay Sonza, inaresto dahil umano sa kasong illegal recruitment, ayon sa NBI

- The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Asst. Dir. Glenn Ricarte has confirmed the news

- As per Ricarte, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) prevented Sonza from leaving the country and was temporarily detained on July 18, 2023

- He was initially turned over to the NBI recently, but was already turned over to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)

Jay Sonza, a former broadcaster, was arrested for alleged involvement in syndicated and large-scale illegal recruitment.

Niko Baua of ABS-CBN, reported that NBI Asst. Dir. Glenn Ricarte has confirmed that Jay was turned over to their custody.

Previously, he was temporarily detained by BI when he made an attempt to board a flight to Hong Kong.

Thereafter, he was turned over to the NBI, and he was subsequently turned over to the BJMP.

According to the report, Jay has already contacted his lawyer, but the latter explained to him that no bail can be posted for syndicated large-scale illegal recruitment.

Jay Sonza, is a Filipino and former broadcaster. He's also a talk show host. He used to work with Mel Tiangco.

He has failed to show up before the National Bureau of Investigation to explain his side on the complaint filed by Julia Barretto. The broadcaster was sent a subpoena and was scheduled to appear before the NBI Cybercrime Division recently. Jay previously claimed that Julia and Gerald Anderson spent the lockdown together and are now expecting a baby. The actress immediately debunked his claims and personally went to the NBI to file a case against him.
