Joey de Leon caught the attention of many netizens anew due to his latest post on Instagram.
In his post, the “E.A.T.” host tackled the title “Eat Bulaga.”
As per the comedian, he had fun creating the famous title decades ago.
“Sabi ni Albert Einstein, ‘Creativity is intelligence having fun.' Korek! In 1979, I was having fun creating the title 'Eat Bulaga.’”

Joey went on and penned his honest thoughts on the issue regarding the title’s ownership.
“Fast forward…BULAGA! Akalain ba nyong after nearly FIVE decades pinag-uusapan, pinag-aagawan at pinag-aawayan pa! Sikat na sikat kami! A different kind of fun!”
He also intriguingly expressed, “Happy problem? Abangan!”
Jose Maria Ramos de Leon Jr., known professionally as Joey de Leon, is an iconic actor, comedian, and television host in the Philippines. He is a member of the comedy trio Tito, Vic and Joey that has made several comedy movies and TV shows. Joey is also best known for being a pioneer host of the longest-running noontime show in the country, “Eat Bulaga.” It premiered on July 30, 1979. Just recently, the Intellectual Property of the Philippines issued a Certificate of Renewal to Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc.) for the “Eat Bulaga” trademark.
Recently, Joey also took to Instagram and expressed his thoughts about a renewal. He said that the renewal may be theirs but the numeral belongs to them. The comedian then expressed his gratitude for promoting them for the next ten years. Joey also underscored that he is still with EB, but the EB he meant was "Ellen and Barbie."
Last July 29, Joey promoted the 44th anniversary of “Eat Bulaga.” He promoted the anniversary by calling July 29 the “National Dabarkads Day.” Joey joked that a new network monicker or nickname has been added to the list comprising Kapatid, Kapamilya, and Kapuso. The new network monicker added is “Kapalmuks,” Joey said.
