Cristy Fermin, in one of the recent episodes of Cristy Ferminute, expressed her thoughts on the planned celebration of "Eat Bulaga" of TAPE.
She wondered how they would be able to do this considering that they would not have any footage to show.
TAPE could not show the clips where Tito, Vic, and Joey are present, which made Cristy wonder how they could celebrate the past 44 years.
"Paano n’yo ipagdiriwang ang apatnapu’t apat na taon nang wala ka namang maaalala o hawak man lang na video ng nakaraang apatnapu’t apat na taon. Anong clips ang ilalabas nila?" she asked.

She also added that TAPE's EB has been airing only for several months.
"Nakakaloka ‘no. Ise-celebrate n’yo ang 44 years eh iilang buwan pa nga lang kayo diyan. Asaan ‘yung pinag-ugatan ng 44 years?" she added.
For Nay Cristy, it is something that is quite shameful because TAPE would not be able to show anything for the past 44 years.
"Nakakahiya ito. Wala kang ipakikitang footage ng nakaraang apatnapu’t apat na taon?” she further stated.
"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. Tape Inc.'s "Eat Bulaga" recently went back live on air on GMA with its new lineup of hosts, including Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar and Betong Sumaya.
Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon, more popularly known as TVJ, filed a complaint in court against TAPE, Inc. and GMA Network. According to a report by the Philippine Star, the complaint stemmed from the act of TAPE and GMA in replaying old episodes of “Eat Bulaga” without prior consent from the comic trio. The report also stated that the complaint against the two entities on June 30 of this year is “for copyright infringement and unfair competition.” The court has reportedly required TAPE and GMA to file their answer within 30 days.
The senator, in a news report by Abante, gave his reaction to the alleged plan of TAPE, Inc., to hold a 44th anniversary celebration of “Eat Bulaga.” The report also mentioned the new hosts of GMA7’s noontime show planning on the program’s upcoming anniversary celebration. Abante also revealed that the TV host and former senator also sent a text message to the media addressing such plans. Tito then supposedly also bared TVJ’s and the “Legit Dabarkads’” plans to hold their own anniversary celebration.
