The singer-actress also supposes this is where her fear about many things, particularly when she’s alone, comes from.
Despite this, the young singer-actress opted to accept a role in the horror movie, “Merry Cherry Chua,” an urban legend familiar to many young students in the Greater Manila Area.
In an exclusive interview with Pika-Pika, Lyca answered the question why she accepted a role in a horror movie despite the scary things she would allegedly often see.

“Kasi gusto ko nga po mag-explore. Gusto kong gawin ’yong mga akala kong hindi ko kayang gawin. ’Yong parang, ‘Bakit hindi ko i-try?” Lyca replied to the question during the Pika-Pika exclusive interview.
“Sa personal lang naman po ’yon na natatakot ako pero kaya ko naman pala po s’yang gawin sa movie,” she added.
The singer-actress also revealed that she is naturally fearful because her third eye is already open since she was young, which is why she would often see scary and strange things.
“Bukas po kasi ’yong ano ko, e, third eye. Nakakakita po ako simula nu’ng bata pa ako lalo na po dito sa lugar namin,” Lyca said.
In an earlier interview with Karen Davila, the singer-actress said that she wanted to also be known as an actress, not just a singer.
“Gusto ko rin talagang mag-artista talaga, gusto ko rin maging actress. Dito sa horror movie, super nag-enjoy po ako dito kahit na matatakutin akong tao, magugulatin akong tao,” Lyca revealed.
Lyca was also the featured guest on “Magandang Buhay” two months ago where she revealed details on how she met her boyfriend.
She said social media platform TikTok played a huge part in their love story.
“Kami po unexpected na doon kami mag-i-start sa TikTok. Kasi hindi naman namin alam ang mangyayari, hindi namin alam kung magiging kami... Ang galing kasi ang TikTok din po ang way na magkita at magka-develop-an kami,” Lyca said.
Lyca Jane Epe Gairanod, better known as Lyca Gairanod, is a Pinay singer and actress. She was born on November 21, 2004 in Tanza, Cavite where her father worked as a fisherman while her mother scavenged for old newspapers and used bottles with Lyca helping her when she grew a bit older. Lyca used to sing for her neighbors so they would give her food or money. She joined the first edition of The Voice Kids Philippines, where she won a cash prize, a house and lot, and a recording deal with MCA Music Philippines.
