Ricci Rivero, binasag raw ang katahimikan para protektahan pamilya’t mga kaibigan: “Kailangan kong magsalita”

- Ricci Rivero, in an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” revealed that he broke his silence about what transpired between him and Andrea Brillantes in order to protect his family and friends

- In part 2 of his tell-all interview with the talk show host, Ricci said he wanted very much to honor the promise not to talk about what happened between him and the actress

- In the end, he had to break his silence because he saw it’s already affecting his family, his closest friends, and also dragging those who don’t have anything to do with the issue

- The basketball star also admitted he committed some mistakes and expressed his gratitude to his family and friends who were there to support him

Ricci Rivero, in part 2 of his interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” said he broke his silence on the issue about him and Andrea Brillantes in order to protect his family and friends.

The basketball star also admitted getting hurt seeing that his family is already getting affected by the said issue.

In the middle of the interview, Ricci apologized to his family and friends for having been dragged into the issue between him and the actress.

“Aminado din naman po ako, mom, dad, my brothers, my closest friends na alam nyo naman pati kayo nadadamay,” Ricci said.

“Ako sobrang thankful ko for you guys kasi kayo yung nagiging matatag para sa akin, para sa ating lahat, na puwede tayong pumatol, puwede tayong magsalita agad or what” the basketball star added.

He then talked about the previous conversation he had with them about keeping one’s silence about the issue, adding that he wanted to honor their discussion but it has become necessary for him to talk.

“Gusto kong i-honor yung usapan namin na hindi ako magsasalita pero para sa akin, kailangan ko na din siguro kayong protektahan, kailangan ko nang magsalita for all of us,” Ricci said.

Kasi lumalaki na, andami nang nadadamay na eh, kahit yung mga walang kasalanan nadadamay na eh,” he added.

The basketball star then issued an appeal to those who kept on dragging those who have nothing to do with the issue.

“If hindi ninyo alam ang buong story, parang wag na lang kayong mandamay nung mga labas dun sa issue,” he appealed.

“Okay sige, kung gusto nyo talagang idamay yung mga nandun, go, kasi wala naman tayong magagawa especially sa society natin ngayon, pero wag na lang yung mga labas dun sa issue,” Ricci said.

Ricci Paolo Rivero is a Pinoy basketball player whose breakout performance during the UAAP Season 80 men’s basketball tournament netted him a spot in the Mythical Five and also earned him the Most Improved Player award. He used to play for the De La Salle Green Archers but eventually left the team to focus on Gilas Pilipinas. After that, he transferred to the University of the Philippines where he became one of the members of the UP Fighting Maroons. He also had his stint as an actor in the film Otlum and used to be one of the hosts of the defunct “Sunday Noontime Live!” which airs on TV5. In 2022, Ricci grabbed a spot in the headlines after grabbing the announcer’s mic and asked Andrea Brillantes to be his girlfriend in the middle of a game.

In the same interview, Ricci also answered the question as to whether it’s true Andrea Brillantes would sometimes come home to his house and vice versa. He made the revelation in part 2 of his interview with the talk show host in the latter’s show, “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” During the interview, he first answered the question as to whether or not it is true that he and Andrea, when they were still a couple, had lived together. Tito Boy also repeated the question several times and also made some clarifications as to what Ricci really meant.

Aside from his revelation during the interview about him and Andrea living together sometimes, he also talked about an instance where his parents were allegedly approached by someone and told that their son is a cheater. Ricci insisted that he is not a cheater and is starting to get hurt by the accusation.
