In the same post, he also gave meaning to the “Eat” in “Eat Bulaga,” saying that it stands for Eto ang Tunay.
“Sa totoo lang, ipinagkakapuri naming ipahayag na sa kasalukuyan, TVJ is celebrating our 47th or 48th Year as Noontime Show Hosts starting with Student Canteen up to EAT (Eto Ang Tunay) BULAGA!” Joey wrote in his post.
He then seemed to issue a challenge to a group whom he did not name but only referred to it as “nyo,” which is short for “ninyo,” adding that they should at least try.
“Sana’y mapantayan nyo man lang. Try nyo lang ,” Joey said.
"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979.
