According to the comedian, it was in 1979 while he was having coffee in the kitchen of Tito's house in White Plains, when something came up in his mind.

Beneath it was a quote by the comedian.

"And what do you do in a canteen? Of course, EAT! And that became my appetizer to help me through until I came up with a delicious title Eat Bulaga!"

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. "Eat Bulaga" went back live on air with its new lineup of hosts.
