The beauty queen confirmed that she identifies as bisexual, saying that she has been that way since she was young.
“I definitely identify myself as bisexual. I’ve identified with that for as long as I can remember.
"I’m attracted to all forms of beauty, all shapes and sizes,” she revealed.

Her beauty queen mom Melanie Marquez knows about it and she even told Michelle that she also used to have girlfriends when she was younger.
“My mom would say, ‘O, anak, when I was young, I had five girlfriends.’ She’d teased me sometimes because I had a very boyish demeanor,” Michelle shared.
Furthermore, Michelle had already been attending pride marches and advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights even before the Miss Universe PH pageant.
“Even before coming out, I’ve been attending pride marches. I have too many friends and best friends in the community.
“I’ve been a loud and proud ally,” she explained.
Michelle Marquez Dee is a beauty queen who rose to fame after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant. She will represent the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador later this year. Michelle’s mother is actress and former beauty queen Melanie Marquez.
In other news, Michelle was recently crowned as the Miss Universe PH 2023 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. During the final question and answer, Michelle was asked about the Department of Tourism's new branding campaign "We give the world our best." The host asked Michelle what she believes is the best thing about the Philippines. According to Michelle, although the Philippines have great natural resources and tourist spots, the best thing about the country is the warmth and friendliness of the Filipino people.
