In a video posted by entertainment editor Rose Garcia on her YouTube channel, Vic was seen in an ambush interview confirming that he had indeed received payment.

Earlier, former Sen. Tito Sotto, the elder brother of Vic and one of the main hosts of the noontime show “Eat Bulaga” revealed that TAPE still owes Vic and Joey De Leon the sum of 30 million each as talent fee spanning several years.

TAPE is an acronym for Television And Production Exponents, the production entity that produces “Eat Bulaga”. Its main owners are Tony Tuviera and former Cong. Romeo Jalosjos and his family.

Early this year, rumors floated about Tony, a long-time friend of Tito, Vic, and Joey, the main hosts of the noontime show, being asked by the Jalosjos family to relinquish his post as the CEO and president of TAPE.

It was later disputed by Dapitan City Mayor Bullet Jalosjos, the treasurer of TAPE Inc. and son of former Cong. Jalosjos.

Mayor Jalosjos then made several statements, some of which were also refuted by former Sen. Tito in a subsequent interview where he divulged about the unpaid talent fee of Vic and Joey amounting to P30M each.

Recently, however, Vic said that TAPE already paid him, though he did not say when or how much.

“Oo, bayad na. Buti na lang na-media,” Vic declared in an ambush interview.

When asked how much did he receive, the TV host and comedian answered: “secret.”

“Eat Bulaga” is the longest-running noontime show in the country that airs on the GMA network. The show is a block timer and is produced by the Television And Production Exponents, Inc or TAPE, Inc, which is primarily owned by Tony Tuviera and former Cong. Romeo Jalosjos. The main hosts are Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon. Its other hosts are Jose Manalo, Allan K ., Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Pauleen Luna, Ryan Agoncillo, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Maine Mendoza, Maja Salvador, Miles Ocampo, Ruru Madrid, Bianca Umali and Carren Eistrup.

In a previous interview, Tito revealed that when “Eat Bulaga” was just starting out, the firm handling its production, Production Specialists, which is owned by Romeo Jalosjos, went bankrupt. Nevertheless, “Eat Bulaga”, along with Tito, Vic, and Joey, and with the help of Tony Tuviera, kept going for a year without salary. Tito then mentioned that TAPE still owed Vic and Joey P30M each.

In the same interview, Tito spoke about the issue regarding the management of “Eat Bulaga”. He said that even Vic and Joey agree that there is a need to clarify what really happened. In the latest episode of “Updated with Nelson Canlas,” Tito shared that it’s not nice to hear TAPE officials saying that TVJ would be retained in the noontime show. He said that for them, such a statement is like saying they can be removed anytime, despite the fact that TVJ is “Eat Bulaga.”
