Coco Martin addressed the issue about the open letter that was written by Rendon Labador, as well as the critics of "Batang Quiapo."

In an interview with MJ Marfori, the actor and director used an old Filipino adage, "Kapag hitik ang bunga, talagang may babato at babato sayo."

He then went on to explain that he is just trying to understand those personalities and also underscored that they have all the permits.

Here is the statement on Coco taken from the video clip of his interview with MJ, and uploaded on MJ's IG.

" Ako, iniintindi ko na lang na siguro yung mga tao, gusto maghanapbuhay, o kailangan lang na gawin yun. Pero alam ko naman na sana, wala silang masamang intensyon na manggulo o makagulo kasi hindi maganda eh."

"Pero sakin kasi, sabi nga nila kung sino yung nakakaunawa di ba, pagpasensyahan mo na lang, unawain mo na lang. Ako naman, sabi ko nga, sa lahat ba ng blessing na dumarating, siguro yung pagiging mabuting tao na lang ang binabalik ko, kaysa na patulan ko or ano."

"Para sa akin kasi, mas marami tayong ano eh, bagay na pag-ukulan... naghahanapbuhay ka lang naman. Sa palagay ko naman wala kaming ginagawang masama, di kami lumalabag sa batas, kasi sa una't una, alam namin po yung ginagawa namin.

"Pangalawa, nagpaalam po kami sa mayor, sa Manila City Hall, meron din po kaming permiso, una sa ating kapulisan, sa barangay, at pati po sa simbahan ng Quiapo, at sa mga kapatid nating Muslim. Lahat ng yon, naka-organize, at napagpaalaman po natin."
