Maxene Magalona went viral after uploading a music video of her cover of “Kaleidoscope World,” the iconic song of her late father, Francis Magalona.

According to Maxene, she wanted to cover the song as a way to celebrate World Mental Health Day, which was yesterday, October 10.

The actress and her bandmates also recorded the song and made the video on October 4, which would have been Francis’s 58th birthday. The hip-hop legend died in 2009 due to cancer.

“Just felt like recording a version of my Dad's song ‘Kaleidoscope World’ in time for World Mental Health Day. We recorded this on October 4, 2022 which was my Dad's 58th birthday,” Maxene shared.

Furthermore, Maxene took to Instagram to pay tribute to the music artists who collaborated with her on the special cover.

“I’m so grateful to this group of amazing artists who helped me bring this dream project to life. To hold space for each other and be able to create and express ourselves freely as artists is the kind of energy our environment would have if we were living in peace and harmony. Maxene Magalona is an actress and social media star in the Philippines. Her father is the late rap legend, Francis Magalona. The actress revealed in May 2020 that she has been seeing a psychiatrist due to her mental illness.

As previously reported by KAMI, Maxene Magalona made headlines after uploading an Instagram reel where she was crying. According to Maxene, it was her "current mood" and even used the hashtag "#ItsOkayNotToBeOkay."

Meanwhile, Maxene took to Instagram and bared her soul and narrated what she has gone through and how she is coping with it. The actress stated that she could remember being bullied while she was growing up. She said that some of her schoolmates would even mock her.
