Petisyon ni Vhong Navarro na manatili sa NBI custody, dineny ng korte

Presiding Judge Loralie Cruz of Branch 69 has issued on Sept. 29, an order, which denied the urgent motion of Vhong Navarro.

The motion that was denied by the court, was for the NBI to retain custody over his person.

Datahan, in her decision, emphasized that she considered the arguments of both the prosecution and the defense, Manila Bulletin reported.

However, she said that Vhong was not able to justify the need for him to further stay at the NBI detention center.

In the decision, it also underscored how the city jail is mandated to exercise great care in respecting human rights.

Vhong filed a Motion for Reconsideration in the Court of Appeals which sought a review of its decision directing the Department of Justice to file rape and acts of lasciviousness charges against him but was denied by the CA, as reported by Rappler.

The wife of Vhong, Tanya Bautista-Navarro, has recently faced the press and stated that she fears for the safety of her husband if he would be moved to the Taguig City Jail. She even said it was the longest day of their lives, as per Manila Times.

Vhong is a Filipino comedian, actor, dancer, singer, judge, and TV host of ABS-CBN Entertainment Groups. He is part of the dance group Streetboys in the Philippines. He is currently hosting the noontime variety show, It's Showtime.

Vhong allegedly cried his heart out while in detention when his wife Tanya left him. As per the report of Bandera, the comedian simply cried hard when Tanya needed to leave. They were still able to talk lengthily and Vhong also assured her that he was okay. She recounted that the people at the detention center were also kind to him and the comedian would often ask about how all of them are.

Previously, Deniece's camp already insisted that Vhong Navarro would have to be moved to Taguig City Jail. As of this writing, the comedian actor is still at the NBI Detention facility. The camp of Vhong will also be filing a petition for bail, in order to avail temporary liberty for the actor. Vhong is facing two separate charges for acts of lasciviousness and for rape.
