Deniece Cornejo, dinurog daw ng ABS-CBN, ani Atty. Topacio: “Ganun katindi pagpu-protekta kay Vhong Navarro”

Deniece Cornejo was allegedly crushed by ABS-CBN, the giant network where rapė suspect Vhong Navarro works, according to famous lawyer Atty. Ferdinand Topacio.

Atty. Topacio also said that Deniece has been through a lot and that he himself already pities her.

“She's been through enough. Kawawa naman siya,” Atty. Topacio said.

“She is rebuilding her life and naaayos yung buhay niya na dinurog ng ABS-CBN,” he added.

In the question whether Deniece would still go back to acting, Atty. Topacio revealed that Deniece doesn’t want to be an actress anymore, adding his own opinion that the former model is already happy where she is right now.

“Ayaw na niya mag-artista. I think she's happy where she is, nakatapos siya ng mga kurso, and she has placed her life in the service of the Lord,” the famous lawyer said.

When asked whether there’s a possibility that Deniece would withdraw the case, Atty. Topacio said he doesn’t know, although based on his latest conversation with Deniece, she is determined to go ahead.

“Well I do not know. As of now, based on my latest conversation with her over the phone, she is determined to see this through,” Atty. Topacio said.

Deniece Cornejo is a former actress and model. Her name was thrust into the limelight after she alleged that she was sėxually attacked by TV host and actor, Vhong Navarro. She filed a case of rapė against the TV host. On the other hand, Vhong filed a case of serious illegal detention and grave coercion against Deniece and several of her friends. The case filed by Deniece against Vhong resurfaced recently after the Court of Appeals granted the petition of the model and directed the Taguig Prosecutor’s office to file the case against the TV host.

In an interview with members of the media, Deniece Cornejo's lawyer, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, said that the former model and actress is bent on going ahead with the case she filed against Vhong Navarro. When asked if he thinks Vhong would be arrested and jailed, he said it’s a possibility but the first thing that should happen is the raffling of the case. Atty. Topacio also revealed that the case has already been filed last week but up to now, it has not been raffled yet.

In an ABS-CBN News interview with Vhong Navarro, he once again denied the allegations against him. He said the only sin he ever committed was when he cheated on his girlfriend at the time who is now his wife. He added that he already narrated his side of the story, which he said is the whole truth.
