RR Enriquez sa pahayag ni Jaime Fabregas ukol sa ROTC: "Hindi po tayo katulad ni Cardo"

- RR Enriquez recently reacted to Jaime Fabregas' viral statement about ROTC

- It is worth noting that some lawmakers have proposed the idea of reviving mandatory ROTC in the Philippines

- Following this news, Jaime said that the people should teach their children to love the country and that in doing so, "you won't need to send them to ROTC"

- On her Instagram account, RR initially agreed with Jaime's sentiments but said that loving one's country is "not enough"

RR Enriquez recently reacted to Jaime Fabregas' viral statement about the possibility of Reserve Officers' Training Corps (or ROTC) being reinstated in the Philippines.

On her Instagram account, @rr.enriquez, KAMI learned that RR posted the quote card containing the veteran actor's statement.

Previously, Jaime made headlines when he said to "teach the children to love their country and you won't need to send them to ROTC" on Twitter.

According to RR, while she agrees with Jaime's statement about teaching the children to love their own country, she did mention that it is not enough.

"If you don’t know how to fight how can you defend your country? In the Bible, ang mga bata at the age of 12 (if I’m not mistaken, tinuturuan na sila) and I believe even until now mandatory yan sa Israel. If magkaroon ng gyera, your love won’t defend you… And hindi porket walang gulo or walang gyera sa ngayon, magpapaka complacent na tayo."

RR continued by mentioning the "langgam mentality" in her post and even went as far as to mention Cardo Dalisay, the protagonist of Ang Probinsyano.

"Gayahin natin ang langgam mentality... Nag-iimbak na sila ng pagkain habang wala pang bagyo. Para in times na dumating ang ulan or bagyo, handa sila. Hindi po tayo katulad ni Cardo na hindi mamatay-matay."

However, even though RR has a different opinion, she did mention that she still loves and respects Jaime since he is "legendary."

RR Enriquez rose to popularity after appearing on the variety and game program Wowowee as one of the dancers. Along with Mariel Rodriguez and Valerie Concepcion, RR became one of the show's hosts. She appeared in the ABS-CBN comedy show Banana Split alongside Angelica Panganiban and Pokwang, among others.

As previously reported by KAMI, RR Enriquez was interviewed by Ogie Diaz where the latter asked her about Paolo Contis and Yen Santos. According to RR, when she saw the 'as a friend' statement, she thought, "Alam ko yung mga ganyang style." Eventually, when asked what message she would give to Paolo and Yen, RR advised the two celebrities to admit their relationship already.

Meanwhile, RR Enriquez could not help but air her frustration over Filipino rapper-singer, Skusta Clee. During their interview, RR briefly talked about Skusta Clee and his ex-girlfriend, Zeinab Harake. According to RR, "Basta, hindi naman siya ganun kagwapuhan talaga pero ang lakas niyang manloko."
