A director and writer, J.E Tiglao, is one of the people who paid tribute to the late actress.
In one of his Facebook posts, he shared a screencap of his previous conversation with Cherie.
The actress asked him about his trip to LA. Then, J.E informed her that it wouldn't push through and stated the reason why.

Cherie told the director right away that she would cover the costs in order to make his trip happen.
That exchange was brief but undoubtedly heartfelt.
In another Facebook post, J.E also recounted all the unforgettable moments he had with the icon.
"2am, ihahatid na kita sa condo mo coz you're already plastered. Next day, you'll message me kung nasan juul mo. I will miss of all of those, Ms. Cherie," he wrote.
