Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, umalma sa "mahjong scene" ng MIM: "Mom never played mahjong during EDSA"

Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, responded to a query by Philstar Life concerning one of the most talked-about scenes in the movie "Maid in Malacañang," which is the mahjong scene.

The daughter of the late former Pres. Cory Aquino was asked what her reaction was to reports of scenes in MIM, which showed Aquino playing mahjong with a number of Carmelite nuns during EDSA.

Ballsy said that Aquino never played mahjong during EDSA, and she never did during her presidency.

"Mom NEVER PLAYED MAHJONG during EDSA — I can’t imagine how she could have — and her presidency," said Ballsy in her response.

The Carmelite sisters of Cebu have slammed the mahjong scene in Maid in Malacañang, Rappler reported.

As per Sunstar, the director of MIM said that there was "nothing wrong with Cory playing mahjong."

The late President Corazon Aquino was the first Filipino that TIME magazine named the “Person of the Year” in 1986. She was selected for leading the People Power Revolution against late President Ferdinand Marcos.

Lolit Solis recently penned her thoughts on Ruffa Gutierrez’s role in “Maid in Malacañang.” Ruffa will play the role of Imelda Marcos in director Darryl Yap’s upcoming film. The entertainment columnist then expressed that Ruffa’s role really suits her. Manay Lolit likewise called Ruffa “lucky” because she was chosen to be in the said movie.

Ruffa has trended online due to her latest online post on Instagram. In her post, Ruffa posted some new photos taken from the set of "Maid In Malacañang." Spotted together with Ruffa in the photos are Senator Robin Padilla and Cesar Montano. Her other co-actors including Cristine Reyes and Ella Cruz were also spotted with them as well.
