Dr. Chao-Tiao Yumol's arraignment was postponed for another date after his camp alleged that he was not in his right mind, as per ABS-CBN News.

The arraignment was supposed to be on Thursday, Aug. 4, but due to the claims of his camp, it was moved to Sept. 16, 2022.

Yumol previously pleaded "not guilty" to charges of illegal possession of firearms, and malicious mischief filed before Branch 133 of the Metropolitan Trial Court in Quezon City, Inquirer reported.

The doctor is the sole suspect in the recent shooting incident in Ateneo which killed three people and injured others.

Among those who died in the incident were former Lamitan Mayor Rose Furigay, her aide, and an Ateneo security guard, Rappler reported.

Videos of the incident, as well as CCTV footage of the escape and arrest of the suspect, have circulated on social media.

The father of Chao-Tiao Yumol, the suspect in the Ateneo shooting incident, was shot dead. Rolando Yumol was gunned down outside his house in Lamitan on Friday morning, July 29. Dr. Yumol was the lone suspect in the shooting incident in Ateneo where former Lamitan mayor Furigay died. The doctor was arrested and taken into custody.

The family of slain former Mayor Rose Furigay expressed shock and sadness over the death of Rolando Yumol. He is the father of the Ateneo shooting suspect, Dr. Chao-Tiao Yumol. Furigay family lawyer Quirino Esguerra, said over Teleradyo that they were shocked and saddened over the incident. He also said that the family would just like to request the Philippine National Police (PNP) to conduct an investigation.
