KAMI learned that she retweeted a post from a netizen who explained that both "iodine" and "iodin" spellings are correct.

The netizen's tweet reads:

“Both ‘iodine’ and ‘iodin’ are correct. These are alternate spellings of the same thing - just like adviser and advisor, or caliber and calibre. Iodin was just how it was commonly spelled back then, but both remain valid today.”

Pokwang is among the most well-loved comediennes in the industry. Her frank and motherly ways are always "patok" among Filipinos. She used to be with ABS-CBN but moved to GMA during the pandemic.

Pokwang recently gave her take on the controversial statement of actress Ella Cruz regarding her comparing history to gossip or rumors. The comedienne said that she respects Ella regarding her political views but she won’t agree with what the actress said about history. She then joked that she wanted to bring “Aryana” back to the sea, the character of Ella in a TV series where Pokwang played as the actress’ mom.

Pokwang then slammed those who bashed her for the wrong spelling of the word “iodine”. She said writing a word down with some letters missing is better than lacking knowledge and respect for history. The comedienne then wrote the letter E several times to drive home her point. Apparently, the issue stemmed from her earlier tweet, calling out Ella Cruz for her notion of history.
