ABS-CBN News reported that the parents of the bride were the ones who gave the couple the gift during the prosperity or money dance.

As per the video that Ronnel Beruico Pedong shared with ABS-CBN, she was the only child of the elderly couple, which may have explained why such huge gift was accorded to them.

Both the bride and groom did not expect to receive that amount of money during their wedding.

It was reported though that since they believe that the money was too much, they agreed to return half of it.

So they returned P250,000 because they said that the remaining half of the same amount will be sufficient for them to start anew.

The video was shot by Ronnel Beruico Pedong and was shared to ABS-CBN.

Weddings are among the most celebrated events in the Philippines. It is one of the notable occasions where family members get to gather and see each other again.

A newlywed couple received a whopping P200K from their money dance. The bride said that the money came from her sister, an OFW in Hong Kong. According to the bride, her sister said that it was her way of thanking her for all the help and the love that she has shown. The couple lives in Calatrava, Negros Occidental in Visayas.
