The crown was presented by MUPh 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez and MUPh National Director Shamcey Supsup-Lee at the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Gala Night on April 19 at Hilton Manila.
The stunning crown made by Jewelmer was named La Mer en Majesté.
On its social media pages, MUPh likewise gave a closer look at the crown.
According to MUPh’s description, the crown accents “the National Gem of the Philippines, the golden South Sea pearl—a radiant symbol of the harmonious relationship between man and nature, capturing the very spirit of the Filipinos.”
“The Miss Universe Philippines Organization and Jewelmer envision this crown as an homage to her majesty, the sea, for she is the queen of the elements. Generous and powerful, she provided the world with this precious gem and contributed the crowned jewel to this exceptional masterpiece, the illustrious Miss Universe Philippines Crown.”
Beatrice Luigi Gomez became well-known after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant. The Cebu representative bested well-known candidates such as Asia's Next Top Model season 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz and former PBB housemate Kisses Delavin. Bea concluded her Miss Universe 2021 journey in the Top 5.
Beatrice Luigi is loved by many for being transparent and true to herself. Shamcey Supsup praised Beatrice for showing her authentic self. This authenticity was Beatrice’s best weapon coming into the pageant, Shamcey stated. The former beauty queen also congratulated Beatrice for being able to make it to the Top 5.
Her kindness and humility were shown in a previous viral video. The said video captured Beatrice’s emotional encounter with Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu of India. The Pinay beauty queen hugged Harnaaz and showed support for her for winning the prestigious pageant. Miss India was visibly emotional while receiving sweet words from Beatrice.
