GMA, nag-isyu ng statement ukol sa kumakalat na fake photo ni Alden Richards

- Sparkle GMA Artist Center issued on Monday a statement about a malicious photo of Alden Richards that has been circulating online

- As per the statement, the said photo—where Alden appeared to be unclothed—is “fake and digitally altered”

- It likewise said it would seek legal action against persons involved in the posting and sharing of the fake photo

- The talent agency furthermore urged the public to “think before they click”

Sparkle, the talent agency owned by GMA Network Inc., has just released a statement about a fake photo of Alden Richards circulating online.

According to the statement, the 30-year-old actor appeared to be unclothed in the fabricated photo.

“It has come to our attention that a photo of our artist, Mr. Alden Richards, appearing to be unclothed, is circulating online,” the statement reads.

“We wish to inform the public that the said photo is fake and digitally altered using a picture that Richards posted on his social media account months ago.”

It continued, “Mr. Richards is a role model for many people and we strongly condemn perpetrators of malicious activities related to our artists, including the spreading of groundless information and defamation.”

Futhermore, the agency stressed that it would seek legal action against those spreading the malicious photo.

“GMA strongly denounces criminal use of social media. We will be seeking legal recourse against those involved in the posting and sharing of this fake photo as well as those posting libelous comments on said photo.”
“We all need to guard against fake news, so we urge the public to think before they click.”
