The actress was very happy that she was invited and the mother of Rico was also likewise smiling while Clau was standing beside her.
Mrs. Yan narrated that she was asked by Rico's brother how she processes the fact that the actor has been gone for 20 years.
“Sabi ko, 'You know, I think I’m in a very unusual place, a very privileged place, because Rico is gone but people still love him,'" she said.

She then addressed the presence of Clau on such an occasion.
"So, after twenty years... that’s it, so now let’s celebrate that, not only the 20th death anniversary of Rico but with Claudine by my side,” said Mrs. Yan.
Thereafter, Claudine hugged the mom of Rico and thanked everyone who were there.
“Salamat sa pagpunta ninyong lahat. Thank you Tita for inviting me. Rico is so happy right now, sobrang saya niya. Isa lang talaga yung hinihingi ko, twenty years ago, na huwag natin siyang kalimutan. Pero ginawa niyo talaga so thank you so much," Clau said.
Claudine Barretto is a famous actress in the Philippines, known for her dramatic skills. She married Raymart Santiago in 2006, but they separated in 2013. The actress has four children — Sabina, Santino, Quia, and Noah.
Claudine Barretto once again commemorated the birthday of her ex-BF Rico Yan who died on March 29, 2002 while on a vacation in a resort in Palawan. In a social media post, Clau showed a photo of a cake complete with a greeting for the late actor. Last year, the actress also celebrated the actor’s birthday by having an intimate dinner with friends and family members. The two reportedly broke up roughly a week before the actor met his untimely demise.
She took to her Instagram account to pen a heartfelt birthday message for her sister, Gretchen Barretto. Gretchen celebrated her birthday on Sunday, March 6, and Claudine had nothing but sweet words for her. The celebrity mom also uploaded beautiful photos of the two of them together along with her birthday greetings. Many netizens reacted to Claudine's post as they also wished Gretchen a happy birthday.
