Veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin called the attention of Carla Abellana after rumors surfaced that she got angry with her father, Rey "PJ" Abellana, for giving information as to why the actress and Tom Rodriguez separated.

Carla and Tom reportedly parted ways less than four months after their wedding. The two tied the knot on October 23, 2021.
In her recent episode of Cristy Ferminute, Nay Cristy seemed to defend PJ against the rumored anger of her daughter, Carla.

“Wala naman siyang kinakausap tapos noong may magsalita eh ang atake ay galit na galit ka. Bakit ka magagalit sa isang tao na nahingan lang naman ng pahayag tungkol sa inyong hiwalayan?” Nay Cristy said during her show, apparently addressing the question to Carla.
She also said that Carla shouldn’t be angry at her father for talking.
“Hindi dapat magalit si Carla sa kanyang ama. Hindi mo dapat sisihin ang tatay mo na nagsalita dahil hindi niya kinusa ang pagbibigay ng impormasyon tungjkol sa inyo ni Tom. Tinanong namin siya,” the veteran showbiz columnist said.
Nay Cristy also said that had PJ voluntarily given information as regards the details, then perhaps it would be understandable if Carla would be angry.
However, the veteran columnist said PJ merely answered their questions.
In the end, Nay Cristy advised Carla to take things into proper perspective and talk things out with her family.

The showbiz reporter also urged the two to refrain from blaming Rey “PJ” Abellana for speaking up on the couple’s alleged marital problem.
